Nautelankoski Foundation
Nautelankoski Foundation was founded by common consent of Lieto municipality
and Lauri Nautela in 1996. The aim of the foundation is:
- to foster and promote the recording, researching and publicising of the cultural
heritage of Lieto
- to further the preservation of the nature, ancient settlement area and cultural
landscape of the Nautelankoski museum area
The tasks of the foundation include:
- practising recording and research of the cultural heritage of Lieto, exhibition and
publishing activity, as well as education and communication
- maintaining and developing the Nautelankoski Museum
- maintaining Lieto homestead archives
- taking care of the Nautelankoski and Kukkarkoski nature and museum area as well as
education and guided activities in the area
- receiving and looking after possible private and community collections and items,
donations, contributions, and such
- communicating with organisations and communities of the field, co-operating closely with
the Lieto municipality and different authorities, and following the international
development of the field
- The 5-member board of the foundation consists of a representative of Lauri Nautela, two
representatives of the Lieto municipality, and two members chosen by the representative
body. The representative body, which monitors and supports the foundation, is comprised of
representatives of Lieto societies fostering the preservation of local arts and crafts and
cultural activities.
